Josh,

Yes I believe the remote does make navigating a little bit awkward. Personally, I don't like the idea of having a new browser window opening and navigating through a separrate window. However, so people like that so that's why I included it in the confirm check.

I'll try to explain the problems with the remote in the design document. Whenever the remote is closed with the "X" for some reason, I can't create a new remote anymore unless the page is reloaded. I have some speculation why, but I noticed on some other pages, that using the "X: has no effect on the remote, and yet the call to open the remote is the same. I included the buttons so the user uses the buttons rather than the "X' also, the power button doesn't seem to work with the macs (at times), but it works with the pcs .. . another oddity . ..

 

The initial alert to allow users to pick their page is done with confirm().
